LET'S LOVE OUR CITY
NEIGHBOR-TO-NEIGHBOR.

The Journey Church desires to be a strong neighbor and partner in this critical moment in our country. With the ending of SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) benefits on October 31, many of our neighbors will face new and urgent food insecurities.
We believe this is a sacred opportunity to show compassion and care in action — to stand with those most affected and to partner with local organizations meeting real needs every day.

Our goal is simple yet bold: 100 people giving $100 to raise $10,000 for three immediate responses through our Neighbor-to-Neighbor initiative:

1. Support bcmPEACE’s Weekly Food Distribution

Partnering with bcmPEACE on Hummel Street in Harrisburg, we will:

    • Provide emergency food boxes filled with dry goods.
    • Supply large boxes and reusable grocery bags for families.
    • Encourage volunteers to serve at their Friday morning distributions.
    • Help fund holiday meals — for example, $15 buys a turkey for a family this season.

2. Launch Weekly Hot Dinners at The Journey

Beginning Sunday, November 9, at 5 PM at 750 S. 29th Street, we’ll host weekly Sunday evening meals for our neighbors. These dinners will last until the end of 2025.

We will be hosting dinners on December 7, 14 and 21 at 5 PM.

3. Create a Community Care Fund

This fund will provide immediate support for families in crisis and also support local organizations caring for children and vulnerable neighbors throughout our city.

Together, we can make sure no neighbor faces this moment alone. Let’s love our city — Neighbor-to-Neighbor.

Join us in being part of this initiative.
